A statuesque and elegant sunflower with petals the most delicious mix of soft colours, dusky crimson and café-au-lait. This was one of my favourite new discoveries in our trials last summer.

Spacing Plant or thin to 45cm (18in) apart.
Sowing, Seeds, Planting Sow in early spring indoors on a windowsill, with a single seed to a 9cm pot or direct sow mid spring. Sow 2 seeds at 45cm (18in) intervals, if both germinate, transplant one. Pinch out the growing tips at 45cm (18in) to encourage branching.
Care Tips Sunflowers are hungry feeders. Improve the soil before planting out with plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost. Water your sunflower plants regularly. You will need to stake them if they’re in an exposed position.
