Product Description
Cabbage 'Savoy Best of All' genuinely is the best of all cabbages. Very finely slice it and marinade it overnight in sunflower oil, white wine vinegar, caraway seeds and lots of dill. This is the tastiest, crunchiest Savoy-type cabbage we've tried. The caraway and dill give it the most incredible flavour and marinating it softens the texture - delicious (see p18 Garden Cookbook).
- Hardy annual
- Seeds: 500
Sowing: Sow April-June. Sow seeds under cover into individual seed modules. Sow two seeds into each module. After germination, thin out the weakest one. Grow on until the roots fill the module (about 5 weeks) and plant them out. Easy germination. Cabbages need a rich, moisture-retentive soil, so dig in lots of organic material. Net them to protect them from birds and caterpillars. Final Planting Distance: Plant out in July 50cm apart Harvesting: October-April
