Bupleurum rotundifolium has bright green, euphorbia-like flowers, but without the allergic, milky sap. 'Griffithii' is a perfect foliage for flower arranging.
It looks good with calm whites and blues, as well as the rich Venetian colours.
- Easy for beginners
|Site:||Full sun in moist, but well-drained soil.|
|Sowing:||Direct sow in April-May and/or late August-September. This will self-sow in well-drained soils. It grows twice the size from an autumn sowing.|
|Final Thinning Distance:||25-30cm. Needs some support.||Height:||60-90cm (2-3ft)|
|Flowers:||12-14 weeks from spring sowing.|
|Flower production:||2-3 months. This is a cut-and-come-again variety.|
|Vase life:||Lasts for 7-10 days. Plunge straight into water after picking as 'Griffithii' is prone to wilting. Remove foliage from below waterline.|
