Description
A classic China rose which flowers on and off for six months. It’s name comes from the Latin for changing – opening pink and fading to apricot. A top border filler favourite at Perch Hill.
This rose is supplied as an A grade bare root, however the form is wispier than you would expect of most classic shrub roses. These roses are not at all stiff or formal like which adds to their appeal in the border when established. The roots will easily establish into large informal shrub rose over 3 years.
All rose petals are edible. As you might expect, they have a mild, floral taste and can be used to decorate cakes, puddings or baking. They are also a beautiful, scented addition to jugs of iced cordial or summer cocktails.
Care Tips
Before planting bare root roses, soak roots in a bucket of water for at least 2 hours. Dig a hole that will accommodate the root ball comfortably and, to aid establishment, sprinkle mycorrhizal fungi (Rootgrow) into the base before planting.
