Want to make your pots work harder?
A bulb lasagne is a simple way to layer different bulbs in one container, creating a succession of flowers from early, through to late spring.
Plant your layers this autumn and, come spring, you’ll be rewarded with wave after wave of colour, from the first crocuses to the last tulip
Step 1: Base layer
Start with your later-flowering bulbs, such as tulips, which need the most space
Step 2: Middle layer
Now it's time to choose your narcissi. These will typically flower before your tulips, in March and early April and fill your garden with delicious scent.
Step 3: Top layer
Finish with early bulbs such as crocuses for the first flowers of spring, these will be jewels in your garden from in February when you need a splash of colour the most
