Description
Tulip 'Unique de France' has amazing petals - shiny and gleaming lipstick red, certainly one of the most vibrant coloured tulips but most unique for its foliage. This tulip is a sport of the Ile de France which usually has a grey blue layer of wax on the leaves of the tulips, giving them a matte finish. The leaves on this tulip lack that coating and look as if they have been polished with silver polish.

Tulip petals are all edible. We scatter them over salad and use some petals dipped in tempura batter and served with a spring garden Frito Misto. Tulip 'White Valley' is a favourite for this.
Care Tips
After flowering leave the foliage to die back naturally if you want to reuse the bulbs.
