I have fallen hugely for thalictrums in the last few years

This has the most beautiful, compact, lacy, elegant foliage and then coloured cumulonimbus clouds of flowers in late summer. I love it both for picking and in a mixed border. This sterile form has petaloid stamens giving it a double-flowered effect and it blooms for ages.
