Cultivation: Direct sow in small batches every 4-6 weeks, March-early September. Can also sow in modules under cover February-September, but avoid the hottest weeks. In warm weather, water the drill before sowing and sow in the evening.

An old variety, with a big, open structure and beautiful, crumpled bronze outer leaves around a good small heart. Excellent flavour.

Avoid the very hot, dry months, but ideal for serial sowing, three or four times from early spring to autumn, for picking almost all year.
