Kohlrabi 'Kolibri' F1 (Gongylodes Group)
- Easy to Grow
- Edible Crop
I love Kohlrabi, a much underestimated vegetable, ideal for growing at the lean veg times of the year
Slice them finely with a mandolin, marinade in good quality olive oil and lemon juice, or, as a less healthy option, serve them with lashings of hollandaise. Their unusual, slightly cauliflower-like flavour is perfect in contrast to the richness of the sauce. Difficult to buy, but easy to grow.
Please note, illustrated packets are being introduced gradually over the coming months, availability may vary.

- Prepare the soil in early spring by adding plenty of well rotted farmyard manure. Apply lime to acid soils to reduce the acidity and lessen the risk of clubroot. Direct sow outdoors from March to August at 4 week intervals, allow 30cm between rows.
Care Tips
Cover seedlings with a protective netting or fleece to prevent attack from birds and insects. Water regularly to keep the soil moist at all times for succulent roots and to minimise woodiness, bitter flesh and bolting.
