- Sow direct from autumn-early spring. Sow thinly and cover lightly with soil. Overwintering outside provides the perfect conditions for germination in spring. Or sow under cover in a cold frame, early spring. Plant out after the frosts.
Care Tips
Germination can be sporadic, overwintering outside or in a cold frame is recommended. The fresh and dried seed stalks are wonderful in flower arrangements. Cut stems back close the ground in spring.
