- Sow in autumn in gentle heat and overwinter seedlings somewhere cool and bright or sow in early-mid spring. Plant out in mid-late spring, spaced 30cm apart.
One of the longest-flowering and glamorous hardy annual cut flowers. This pack contains pinks, mauves, whites and crimsons. Scabious grows well on any soil and if I keep picking it, flowers from June until Christmas at Perch Hill.
These pincushion flowers are gently scented.
Pick or deadhead regularly. Like all annual scabious, this can be cut it back hard in the middle of it’s flowering season, reducing the plants by a quarter and in two weeks, the whole lot will be covered in flower again.
