Milli Proust is a flower grower, gardener and author who has spent over a decade learning how gardens really grow, through observation, experimentation and patience

With over ten years experience transforming her own garden from scratch, Milli brings a practical, intuitive approach to growing and her work centres on helping others grow with confidence and joy. She is the co-founder of Alma Proust, a design-led, seed-focused flower farm specialising in useful, beautiful and climate-attuned cut flowers, and the author of her fourth book How Does Your Garden Grow?, an approachable guide to creating a garden that feels abundant, personal and alive throughout the year.


Quite a few of our regular visitors and course attendees over the years have asked us to set up a course for the next generation of gardeners, the person I was/we were 30-35 years ago, just starting out with gardening. Well, Milli Proust is just the person, with her new book out this March. Milli is a friend-florist-grower-gardener, who has created a garden AND a cut flower patch (in fact 2) from scratch an hour and a half from here in West Sussex. I can think of no-one better to teach this slot to our just-becoming-interested daughters, sons, and the in-law ones too.


The Perch Hill shop will be open and guests are free to wander the gardens after lunch too.
