More Details

I have this incredibly elegant, highly scented narcissus planted between my overwintering dahlias to give me buckets of long-lasting narcissi to cut for spring. Also good in grass.

Genus Narcissus
Group/Species Tazetta

Fragrant with clusters of florets (usually more than three) on a stem. Very broad foliage and stem. Click here for more information on narcissi divisions.

Variety Silver Chimes
Type Perennial
Common Name Daffodil
Border Position Border (Front)
Bulb Size 12/14

Soil Type Broad Tolerance
Scent Scented
Site Part Shade
Moisture Moist but Well-drained
Height 30cm (12in)
Spacing Plant pointy end up, 10-15cm (4-6in) inches deep with three to four inches between each bulb.
Care Tips Plant anytime from August-November. Plant pointy end up, 10-15cm deep with 8-10cm between each bulb in borders (less in containers). After flowering deadhead but allow leaves to die back naturally to give the bulbs strength for the following year.
Flowering April
Vase Life Narcissi make great cut flowers lasting up to a week in the vase. I love them jumbled up in large jugs on the table. Be careful mixing with other flower types as their stems give off a compound that is toxic to other flowers and soak their stems in warm water before displaying to stop the 'goo' from running out.

They didn't last as well as the tulips. I think I should have been moor imaginative with them.
