Sowing, Seeds, Planting Direct sow in small batches every 2-3 weeks from February to early September in lines, or blocks, straight into the ground. Water the drill before sowing to decrease temperatures and sow in the evening. You can speed the germination process up by sowing into a length of guttering under cover and transplanting outside.
Care Tips The plants need plenty of water, but not too much sun. Hot weather inhibits germination.
Storing This keeps well in the fridge.
Harvesting 6-8 weeks from sowing, producing leaves for about 3 months. Successional sowing should provide leaves nearly all year.
Cooking Notes This can be cooked, stuffed or eaten raw.
