The benefits of rose campion

Reviewed 29th March 2017 by Zoe

Rosa campion is a wonderful flower drawing the eye and brightening up its chosen area of growing. At our house, it has placed shallow roots on top of a low stone wall facing east. The rosette of leaves looks good from April onwards and the growing leaves contribute until it flowers with a fanfare. I always hide the base with a pot or two in the autumn as the base leaves become tatty. This year it has reappeared just 30cm away from last year's spot. It does like low nutrient locations and does not need much soil.
