Nicotiana alata 'Grandiflora' is the most highly scented tobacco plant you can grow. It has delicate creamy-white flowers which are delicate in bright sunlight, so best planted with a little shade.

Nicotiana are a great family of very long-flowering half hardy annuals, many of them with lovely evening and night scent. Nicotiana are moth pollinated, so pour out the fragrance when the moths are around.

Spacing Plant 30cm (12in) apart.
Sowing, Seeds, Planting Sow under cover in mid spring. Do not cover seed. Plant after last frosts. Or direct sow in early May.

Flowering June - first frosts, 12 weeks from sowing.

Stunning in evening shade

I grew this for the first time last season for my white border in shade. It flowered for months all summer long and into November along with Antirrhinum White Giant and looked stunning, I have ordered more of both for this year.
