Had not grown this before but certainly will again. 100% germination rate (very pleasing) but slugs loved them – planted out at about 10cm tall and even with protective barrier (plastic milk bottle around each stem) lost a lot to slug and snail damage – even quite large seedlings around 30cm tall had stems badly rasped by snails.
But persevered and it was worth it – only just coming into flower now but the colour and branching shape are lovely; I think it a more sophisticated-looking plant than Helianthus annuus (which I also grow and love to see planted en masse).

I am delighted with these gorgeous lemon/cream flowers. Tall and healthy plants with many flower heads. I have them in front of a lilac buddleia with the limes of Kniphofia 'Percy's Pride' and Cosmos 'Purity' and pale lemons of Cosmos 'Xanthos' in front of the Helianthus. Looks stunning and I love how they dance in even a slight breeze.
I have kept half the packet of seeds for next year.

Delightful and so easy to grow

This has been my first encounter with this delightful, lemon coloured helianthus. I grew them easily from seed following the instructions. They have flowered reliably in a poor and stony soil. They looked pretty staked with birch twigs, but I think they would have stood alone. The delicately coloured flowers are long lasting and attract insects. By accident I planted them in a border with pale purple and cream/pale yellow flowers and it has beautiful until this week when we had a hard frost. I will definitely grow them again.

Utterly lovely

The seeds germinated well and the plants were strong ( I had such good germination I ended up giving plants away!).
They have flowered fully throughout the season, some reaching 7ft high - so do plant at the back of the border.
With regular deadheading they are still in full flower towards the end of October. Lovely soft creamy colour and a great cut flower. Small enough flowers to thread beautifully thorough other plants. Highly recommended.
