Sowing, Seeds, Planting | Protect plants from frost in a sheltered environment whilst you pot them on ready to go outside, usually around May time. A greenhouse is perfect but a windowsill or conservatory will do fine (16-18°C is ideal), with plenty of sunlight. Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions for 7-10 days before moving to their final position. If growing in containers incorporate a slow-release fertiliser into the potting mix. |
Care Tips | Water plants well in summer and deadhead to encourage a second flush of flowers. Apply a home-made feed of comfrey juice, or organic liquid plant food (both rich in potash), every fortnight. Lift the plants with care and pot them up inside before the frost, cutting the top growth back by one third as you do so. They don’t go into complete dormancy, so water lightly through the winter. In spring begin feeding and increase watering. Plant out only once any danger of frost has passed. Please be aware that contact with the foliage may occasionally aggravate skin allergies. |

Venetian Pelargonium Collection reviews
Reviewed 17th August 2019 by Mrs Wustefeld The plants are very disappointing. I did send photos to customer services to say how disappointing they were and they assured me they would be much better in July but they havnt been, they are lost amongst the other little plants I put in and certainly not worth the £50 i paid. Reply from the Sarah Raven Team:"Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment with your Pelargoniums. Please be assured that we have now refunded you for this." Reviewed 1st August 2019 by Mrs Cater The Lord Bute hardly produced any flowers, others good. Everything seems to have produced too much foliage this year. |
Reviewed 1st August 2019 by Elizabeth Incredibly slow to flower and in fact only one plant has done so. Not the riot of colour I was hoping for. |
Reviewed 31st July 2019 by Janet strong plants that flower profusely late in the season. Your packaging is perfect! |
Reviewed 31st July 2019 by Russell Very nice in tubs, some survived outside over winter even (in the city) |
Reviewed 31st July 2019 by Deborah The plants didn’t thrive they arrived with very small amount of growth and seemed to have only recently been grown they had yellow leaves and for the price I was extremely disappointed |
I'm not usually so complimentary
Reviewed 4th June 2018 by Kirsten Swift I am so happy with my order. The plants arrived well packaged and I was relieved to see how healthy they were. Sarah Raven has a knack of making her plants that little bit special. The website has an elegance and quality that other websites seem to lack. When I compare this website to others the attention to detail really shows. Her plants look more loved. I definitely recommend. |
