The best all round garden and flower arranging allium. 'Purple Sensation' starts to flower after the tulips in mid-May.
I'll pick flowers and then beautiful green bead-like seed heads until the end of July and I use them to decorate the tree at Christmas – simply cut them, then dry and spray silver.
No early summer garden is complete without a good drift of these.

Reviewed 8th July 2019 by Hello Louise All very good but only 13 of the 15 bulbs came up this year - I don't know what happened to the other 2 but there wasn't even any leaves. If they had all come up you would definitely have received 5 stars. |
Reviewed 8th July 2019 by Hello Christine Allium bulbs were of very high quality and gave a lovely display, better than ones from local garden centre. Tulips for shade were exceptional and I will buy more. Bulbs were well packed and delivered when expected. I will order more this year. |

Large headed Aliams. |
Reviewed 5th July 2019 by Hello Jan I purchased a number of Allium bulbs back in the spring and they performed beautifully! They grew tall and proud and with a perfect globe of tiny flowers. I purchased a number of Allium varieties and planted them in groups or individually in strategic spots in the garden all viewable not only from the garden but also from all the windows at the back of the house. The garden looks like a naturally planted wild meadow in parts and more structured in others. I treat my garden like painting a canvas.and it seems to work as everyone loves it! Sometimes it grows organically and at others more structured thought is at play. All good fun and keeps me out of mischief even more so since I retired 2 months ago. I can spend, and mostly do, all my time in the garden. My bulbs arrived right on time for planting, were well packaged and protected. Excellent buy and I would recommend! I missed the boat a couple of years running by not ordering in time but finally this year I have my Alliums blooming in the garden! Excellent bulbs. of good quality well formed and healthy bulbs with planting and care instructions. I would recommend to anyone who wants/likes a bit of architectural plants to offset a "planted wild" garden. |
Reviewed 5th July 2019 by Hello Penelope To be honest, I am not absolutely sure which alliums are which in my garden, but they are all gorgeous! |

Amazing
Reviewed 27th May 2015 by Gudrun Berry I couldn't resist the pictures in the catalogue, but was rather sceptical how this plants would fair at our wind-swept hilltop site with heavy clay soil. I shouldn't have worried - of the 15 bulbs planted, 12 came up and provided us with a long lasting, outstanding spectacle. They stood tall despite very stormy weather and provided interest even before they were in full bloom. As they are planted along a path it is impossible to go passed there without stopping and admiring them, noting every change and taking many photos of each stage of development at every possible angle! |
