Description

As a Darwin Hybrid, it’s very early to flower (in March with us) and incredibly perennial, still coming up here after well over a decade. It’s also super tall, with huge and spectacular flowers, like an ostrich egg on a stem and finally, look closely and you’ll see that the petals have the finest outline of red, with the softest markings to their outer surface. To celebrate a new growing year, this often fills my first triumphant spring vase.

This can be gift wrapped in our exclusive hessian sack, with ribbon and a Sarah Raven gift card. You will be able to add this to your basket once you begin the checkout process. To add a gift message to your order, simply fill out the details at the delivery stage of the checkout.

Please note: only items which are showing ‘in stock’ can be gift wrapped.

Tulip petals are all edible. We scatter them over salad and use some petals dipped in tempura batter and served with a spring garden Frito Misto. Tulip 'White Valley' is a favourite for this.

Care Tips

After flowering leave the foliage to die back naturally if you want to reuse the bulbs.
