Perpetually busy with butterflies and bees, this is a nectar Mecca all summer. A perennial plant that will flower in its first year if sown early enough.
The toadflaxes are a new discovery for me. They flower for months at a stretch and look wonderful in the garden and cut in a small glass or jug.

Linaria purpurea 'Canon Went' reviews
wonderful find
Reviewed 7th October 2017 by Frances Furlong Did not expect too much growing from seed as I am a beginner but planted these out eventually and they really took off this year. Beautiful delicate and very tall spires next to the fox gloves made a rather difficult area glow in a chelsea flower show way! |
Disappointed
Reviewed 10th September 2017 by Christy I sowed the seeds and only got 2 plants from them. One turned out to be white and the other purple so I was a bit disappointed. Reply from the Sarah Raven Team:"Thank you for your feedback. Happy but still waiting
Reviewed 6th March 2016 by janine woolford Presumably I didn't sow these early enough as I've yet to get a flower. But I can say they've grown well, survived this wet winter, and I've got masses of plants to look forward to. Will update and hopefully score higher when I see them in all their beauty. Reply from the Sarah Raven Team:"Thank you for your feedback, we wouldn't expect to see this variety flowering until at least early May, so we would suggest that you continue what you're doing and they will start to flower soon. in terms of the sowing times, you can start sowing the seed unercover from early August through to late September. If you would like further advice please contact our horticultural adviser at plantadvice@sarahraven.com" Posted 12th April 2016 |
Linaria Canon Went
Reviewed 6th September 2015 by Nichola Mckinley I grew this from seed this year. It took a while to come into flower but it was well worth the wait. In my west facing aspect it only gets afternoon sun and we have had a chilly summer in West Yorkshire. Some plants just dont do well here but this plant has earned its place. |
