Sowing, Seeds, Planting Plant in a cool, semi-shady part of the garden. Avoid exposed east-facing sites, where cold winds may damage young spring growth. Dry sunny spots are also best avoided. Work plenty of organic matter into the soil prior to planting and sprinkle mycorrhizal fungi into the base of the planting hole, firm in and water well until established.
Care Tips This takes 5-10 years to mature. If you garden on light, sandy soils apply a flowering shrub fertiliser in spring, this should not be necessary on richer soils. Too much feeding can encourage excessive soft, leafy growth, with plants less likely to develop flower buds and more at risk from frost in colder winters. No routine pruning is required except to remove diseased, damaged, congested or crossing shoots in winter or spring. Shoots growing in unwanted directions can also be removed.
Flowering July - November
Vase Life Sear stem ends for 30 seconds in boiling water. Also excellent as a dried flower.

This arrived as a small stick that I did not think would last the winter. However it thrived and although it has not flowered yet is a strong healthy plant
