Gladiolus 'Espresso' is the very darkest black crimson gladioli – I love it with acid-green and grow it piercing through Euphorbia.

These are best planted outside from mid-April or in pots from early March, if kept frost free.

Spacing Plant 10cm (4in) deep and 10-15cm (4-6in) apart in clumps or lines
Care Tips Water regularly during growing season and stake tall varieties. Lift after first frosts. If you're growing in containers, stop watering at the end of summer and bring the pots indoors for the winter. Leave them in their pots or take them out and dry. Flowering July - October (3 months from planting)
Vase Life Remove the bottom leaves, I prefer to leave the spike tip as this is part of the plants appeal but removing it will encourage more flowers below.

Not all have flowered - in hope for better results next year.

Only 3 of the bulbs flowered although the leaves appeared . This was particularly disappointing as I planted them in fortnightly intervals as suggested which took a lot of work and planning for little or no return.

Only two of the corms flowered this year....but those that did were spectacular.

I had an offer code to use up, however it wouldn't accept the code through your website. Spoke to a customer advisor on the phone who was very helpful. Purchases arrived, all planted and my Gladiolus 'Espresso' are just flowering now (4 Sept) and they are such a beautiful, nearly dark maroon colour and look like velvet. Stunning as cut flowers which is why I ordered them and look just gorgeous in my very tall glass vase sat on my fire place. Will differently order them again!
