The wild, wood anemone is one of the most beautiful wild flowers of early spring. You'll see wood anemones in any ancient wood, flowering from February until the bluebells open in May.
Plant a few of these in your garden – different colours and varieties – in the shade under the skirts of trees and shrubs, or out at the front of the border in full sun. They'll grow happily anywhere, increasing gradually from year to year.
Please note: This may look like a bit of twiggy compost when it arrives (see image) but these 'twigs' are the rhizomes. Soak overnight in a bucket of water before planting and they will double in size and start growing more quickly than if planted dry.
This can be gift wrapped in our exclusive hessian sack, with ribbon and a Sarah Raven gift card. You will be able to add this to your basket once you begin the checkout process. To add a gift message to your order, simply fill out the details at the delivery stage of the checkout.

Reviewed 18th November 2014 by Barbara Jones Planted these late winter 2014 along with anemone blanda. They produced few flowers, (unlike their blue bedfellows) but I am hoping for better things next Spring. Fingers crossed. Reply from the Sarah Raven Team:"Yes, you should find your display will improve next year and in the years to come!" Posted 18th November 2014 |
