Cultivation
Don’t plant tulips until mid-late October. Plant pointy end up 10-15cm deep, 8cm apart in borders (less in containers). You can use a mycorrhizal Bulb Starter.

Description

We have had bright purple doubles (like ‘Purple Flag’) in our trials before, but I fell on this one for its rich Cardinal-cape purple, and it’s quite short of stem, making it ideal in a pot or window box, and it lasts two weeks in a vase.

Care Tips

After flowering leave the foliage to die back naturally if you want to reuse the bulbs.
