Don’t plant tulips until mid-late October. Plant pointy end up 10-15cm deep, 8cm apart in borders (less in containers). You can use a mycorrhizal Bulb Starter.

The best of the boiled sweet purples, made even better by the green flashes on its outer petals, which really do make this look like an exotic parrot has just landed in your garden. You won’t want these everywhere, but a few are superb.
