- Sow in autumn in gentle heat and overwinter seedlings somewhere cool and bright or sow in early-mid spring. Plant out in mid-late spring, spaced 30cm apart.
Dark, rich velvet, crimson, mini-pincushions on long, wiry stems – a must. Gently scented.
All the scabious family are known for their reliability, long-flowering season and fantastic insect-friendly credentials.
Pick or deadhead regularly. Like all annual scabious, this can be cut it back hard in the middle of it’s flowering season, reducing the plants by a quarter and in two weeks, the whole lot will be covered in flower again.
