Description
A popular and classic semi-evergreen hedge recognised for its lush green summer foliage, which is brilliant for creating a dense screen for providing privacy and for creating an effective barrier against wind and noise. The leaves are held through the winter months and turn to an attractive autumnal hue. Highly resilient, it displays lovely green catkins in spring which turn into elegant, pagoda-like fruits enjoyed by birds and small mammals.
Our UK grown hedging plants are supplied as cell-grown saplings ready for immediate planting into their final positions. Cell-grown plants are known to have high establishment success rates with rapid early growth and are uniform and compact in size for quick and easy planting.
As a guide, use 5 plants per metre length. When planting, set out in a zig-zag style to encourage a thick and bushy hedge.
Care Tips
Small to medium sized hedging that can be easily clipped and maintained to 1.5m. Growth rate 20 - 40cm per year.
Clip and trim in late summer to help maintain shape and form. This is important so the plants retain their leaves during winter.
