- Sow under cover, year-round for windowsill crops. Sprinkle seed onto the surface of damp compost, press seed in lightly but do not cover. Keep warm and moist. May also be sown outdoors in summer or early autumn for larger, hotter leaves to develop.
Care Tips
If you have planted your cress outside, it will need winter protection from a cloche or fleece or move plants indoors. Allowed to grow naturally, cress will reach about 15cm with slightly feathered, divided leaves and will eventually flower.
