- Sow under cover in spring or autumn. Sow thinly, just covering seeds with a sprinkle of soil (germination 1-3 weeks). Pot on and plant out after frosts have passed. Sow direct after the frosts. Space/thin to 45cm (18in).
Care Tips
Unlike other campions, Bladder Campion (Silene vulgaris) grows in dry, calcareous grassland, often on scrubby field boundaries. So avoid moist ground or improve drainage if you want this to colonise.
