Join Sarah Raven and Adam Nicolson for a rare evening together, sharing the inside story of two remarkable gardens - Sissinghurst and Perch Hill - and the family, ideas and history that connect them.
Adam grew up at Sissinghurst with his grandparents, Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicolson, whose creative vision and structure shaped one of England’s most influential gardens. He returned in 2004 with Sarah and their young family, while just a few miles away Sarah continued to create the garden at Perch Hill.
Together, Sarah and Adam will explore these two very different places: Sissinghurst, steeped in memory and nostalgia, and Perch Hill, colourful, experimental and always looking forward. Through their personal stories, you’ll discover how each garden has evolved, the people and ideas that have shaped them, and what gardens can give us in return - beauty, solace and a tremendous sense of optimism.
The bar will be open throughout the evening, with time to browse the Sarah Raven pop-up shop.
A special opportunity to hear the story of Sissinghurst and Perch Hill as it has rarely been told - from the people who know and love them best.

Open day refunds:All of our open day dates are non-transferable and non-refundable. If you are unable to attend you are welcome to send your order confirmation along to someone who can attend in your place.
Course / event refunds:
We can refund the full cost of your course / event if we receive at least 8 weeks notice of the cancellation.
We are unable to offer a refund or transfer if we receive less than 4 weeks notice of the cancellation. A friend or family member is welcome to attend in your place. For more information, please see our course FAQs

For everyone attending a course, you'll receive an email one month before your visit, containing details about the course, directions and listings of local B&Bs.
Please note that our courses and events are ticketless, so you don’t need to bring a ticket with you unless otherwise stated.
