Introduced to the UK by the ornithologist and plant collector Collingwood Ingram, this plant is from Kyushu in Japan. It is known for its shiny dark green leaves, and its abundant clusters of pure white flowers which are cone-shaped.
Care Tips
To enhance flowering prune hard in early spring, cut back the previous season's shoots to within a few buds of the permanent, woody framework of the plant.
