Stunning clematis

Reviewed 22nd June 2015 by Mick Garton

After three years this wonderful clematis has established itself on an old 4-metre high stone wall, and cascades down including through a gap to brighten up both sides and fill the air with a delicious almond/spicy/sweet, irresistible fragrance. Planted at the same time as rambling rose Madame Alfred Carriere, the two have been flowering together over this wonderful old wall from mid/late May through to the end of June and will last another few weeks yet (in Edinburgh). A beautiful planting association, making a show-stopping impact, admired by passers by! Both plants fully live up to the glowing descriptions on the Sarah Raven site, from where it was purchased.
