Verbena rigida
I first came across this planted in the rose garden at Sissinghurst, where it is planted in wide drifts, and now love its bright purple flowers which go on and on and on. Highly recommended.
Verbena rigida is the small and more densely flowery version of verbena which flowers for four or five months at a stretch. Watch Sarah explain the reasons why she loves Verbena rigida and the best conditions to grow it in this video.
