Description
A kitchen garden container classic, more compact than most kales, which can be sown and grown all year. It grows super-quick, at almost twice the pace of other kales and has softer textured leaves. We use this when the leaves are small for mixed leaf salads and then with stems removed, as a wilted green. The more you pick, the more it grows. It’s one of my desert island veg.
Care Tips
Grows best on soil which has been manured the previous autumn. Protect against cabbage white butterflies with fine netting. Firm the soil well around plant base to prevent wind rock and provide stakes to support tall plants in autumn.
