- Direct sow at 4 week intervals from April-July or under a cloche from March. Sow seed thinly at 1cm depth (0.3in), in a 15cm (6in) strip, not a single line. Thin to 5-7.5cm (2-3in).
Care Tips
Water well to encourage germination. Once germinated, carrots should be watered only when necessary to keep the soil moist as excessive water may encourage leaf groth instead of roots. Grow under Enviromesh to protect against carrot root fly.
