Narcissi 'Silver Chimes' has delicate flowers with a scent similar in league to Narcissi 'Avalanche’ which it follows in its flowering season.
I have this planted between my dahlias in my dahlia cut-flower patch to give me buckets of long-lasting cut narcissi for spring.
| Genus: | Narcissus |
| Variety | Silver Chimes |
| Group: | Tazetta |
| Type: | Deciduous |
| Soil Type: | Any soil | Site: | Sun or partial shade | Height: | 30cm | Spacing: | Plant pointy end up, four to six inches deep with three to four inches between each bulb. | Hardiness: | Hardy | Care tips: | Plant anytime from August to November. They are very tolerant bulbs | Flowers: | ❀ April | For the vase: | Narcissi make great cut flowers lasting up to a week in the vase. I love them jumbled up in large jugs on the table. Be careful mixing with other flower types as their stems give off a compound that is toxic to other flowers and soak their stems in warm water before displaying to stop the 'goo' from running out. Tazetta are thirsty narcissi and will need their water regularly topping up. |
