A five-foot tall pea with a long, drip-drip cropping pattern, ideal if you're only going for one sowing of one variety to keep you in peas all summer long.

It gives you lots of well-filled, tasty pods, with very tender and sweet peas and no grubs.

Spacing Seeds 7cm (3in) all directions. Trenches 75cm (30in).
Sowing, Seeds, Planting Sow February-March under cover (in a gutter) or April-June outside. Sow in the gutter or rake out a trench about 5cm (2in) deep and 10cm (4in) wide and sow 2 rows of peas evenly spaced about 7cm (3in) apart. Push soil back over them. Space trenches 75cm (30in) apart. When seedlings reach 5cm (2in) tall erect supports up to 180cm (6ft).
Care Tips Water moderately. Support at planting, against a trellis or fence.
Storing Freeze for up to 6 months, or store in the refrigerator for a fortnight.
Harvesting July - September, as soon as the pods begin to swell. If allowed to grow too large the pods will become starchy.
Cooking Notes Eat the peas raw, or steamed. Add to salads, pasta dishes or make into soup. Or try it in Sarah's Potato and chard salad with pea pesto recipe.
