Sowing, Seeds, Planting | Plant outdoors October-December. |
Care Tips | Don’t plant tulips until mid-late October. Plant pointy end up 10-15cm deep, 8cm apart in borders (less in containers). You can use a mycorrhizal Bulb Starter. After flowering leave the foliage to die back naturally if you want to reuse the bulbs. |
Flowering | April - May |
Vase Life | Tulips make supreme cut flowers. Strip the bottom leaves, tie the stems in paper to hold the stems ram-rod straight and leave to drink for at least 3 hours – or overnight. This helps keep the stems straight, but tulips do continue to grow after picking so curves may appear. |

Tulip 'Purple Dream' reviews
Reviewed 30th June 2019 by Margaret Beautiful blooms ,strong plants. |
Reviewed 27th June 2019 by Kate I am very impressed by the size and good health of the plants and seedlings I have received from Sarah Raven. They were delivered quickly and packaged beautifully, complete with comprehensive growing instructions. The tulip bulbs, which I have just planted were large and very healthy. I cannot recommend Sarah Raven highly enough - a very professional nursery and an excellent website. |
