A pretty and tasty yellow striped courgette, excellent picked young for stir-fries and quick-frying.

I also love them blanched in stock and then, just softened, dressed in olive oil and a mix of green herbs. That's often how they eat pattypans and courgettes in Greece.

Squash 'Sunbeam' was incorrectly advertised in our Seeds 2015 catalogue as a Pattypan courgette. The information shown here has now been corrected. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Spacing 90cm (36in) apart in each direction
Sowing, Seeds, Planting Soak seed overnight and sow under cover March - early May. Sow seed vertically (to prevent it rotting), 2-3cm (1in) deep into a 9cm pot of compost. Plant out when have 5/6 leaves. Can be sown direct after last frosts up until June.
Care Tips Need rich, well-manured ground and plenty of watering in dry weather. Feed well with plenty of organic matter. Pick fruit regularly to prolong the harvest.
Harvesting July-October. Eat small as courgettes (15cm) or leave to mature as marrows.
