Hardy annuals can withstand a touch of frost and can be sown/planted straight into the ground in the autumn and will keep through the winter without protection. In colder areas you may wish to cover seedlings or keep in a cold frame/ unheated greenhouse. Grow in well-drained soil in sun to partial shade. As well as the cutting garden they also work well among a range of plants in a mixed herbaceous border. |
Care Tips | Grown as an annual this salvia is suited to container collections or as a summer border filler in a summer well drained position |
Flowering | May - September, 10-12 weeks from spring sowing. |
Vase Life | 10 days. Excellent and long-lasting, they also hold their colour when dried. |
Harvesting | Flower production: 3-4 months. |
