I first saw this summer-flowering bulb in a blue river all the way down the moat walk at Sissinghurst and have long coveted it.

It is an expensive bulb, but will flower in your garden for decades. It's also brilliant for perennial pots.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting These large bulbous plants need well-drained soil in full sun. They grow naturally just above the soil, so when planting, leave the tip showing.
Care Tips A truly long lived perennial. Plants may not flower in the first year but once established will bloom happily, year after year with little care required.

The most talked about plant in my garden. Flowering only last a couple of weeks but well worth it.

This was an impulse buy, I just wanted to know what it was like. The bulbs are very expensive, but this has one large inflorescence and three small ones. I had been bent to pack it. It has now straightened up nicely. I am thrilled
