- The more fertile the soil the taller they will get, but the plant is very adaptable and will put up with very poor soil and continue to self seed if conditions are desirable.
Verbascum 'Flush of White' is a light, airy, vertical growing plant, invaluable for adding punctuation marks to a border. Good cut flower and pollinator plant too.
Verbascums give you the spires and candelabras of a garden – the tall, vertical, and often branched scale, which brings air into any plant combination. They are the third dimension, the upper storey to prevent any border becoming too heavy, too dull. I absolutely love them.
To encourage repeat blooming , cut off the central flower spike after initial flowering so that multiple flower spikes to form. Mulch overwinter for protection on cool days.
