Cultivation
Sow under cover in March or outdoors from late-April, covering seeds thinly with soil, they need light to germinate (1-3 weeks). Indoors, pot on then plant out after the frosts. Space/thin seedlings to 40cm (16in).

We’ve become very keen on everlasting stems – for their ethereal beauty along with their real claim to sustainability, so particularly for winter, we have vases in key places which last for months. Here there’s a rich mix of the black pods of Nicandra with forever-keeping-their-colour, crimson strawflower, filled in between with our favourite spun-sugar grass.

Care Tips

Requires little aftercare except watering during dry spells. Nicandra may require support. Will self-seed freely, remove seed heads if you do not want it to spread.
