- Plant in a sunny spot with free-draining soil. Ideal for gravel gardens or trailing in a container.
The silver germander is ideal for any hot dry spot in the garden and will thrive even in the most difficult soils once established. The felted foliage is evergreen and aromatic, with wonderfully scented purple-lavender flowers produced in abundance.
It will give perfect ground cover in a hot sunny position, similar in habit to creeping thyme, this will thrive in a dry gravel garden and in spaces between flagstones.
Feed and water regularly until established. Deadhead to prolong flowering. Make sure soil is well drained and avoid winter wet which can be harmful to the plant.
