Description

If you buy ‘Maris Piper’, it’s almost always sold as a whopper, but they are even more delicious when harvested small. That’s the reason to grow your own for the best summer roast potato version —par-boiled, lightly crushed and then in olive oil, salt and rosemary. One of my favourite summer things.

Care Tips

When the shoots first appear draw the earth from between the rows to cover them. This encourages underground shoots and more tubers. Add in lots of well rotted manure the previous autumn (not too fresh).
