Description

There’s a lane a mile from Perch Hill (in East Sussex) which turns purple for a couple of hundred feet with betony from early summer till the autumn. It’s one of our showiest native wild flowers, and yet tolerant and easy to grow. I love it for picking too, like Bugle on steroids.

Care Tips

Position is key for establishment, this plant usually prefers light soils, in open woods, grassland and hedgerows.
