Description

I absolutely love baptisias. It can’t be claimed they flower for ages, but like peonies, and their lookalike lupins, when they do, it’s so glorious, you have to have at least one or two to admire. And their foliage is such a good grey-green, it more than holds its own in a mixed border. This was a splendid, true indigo blue-black, we all loved in our trial last summer.

Care Tips

Deadhead to prolong flowering but leave some at the end of summer to develop seed heads for winter decoration. Drought-resistant once established. Prefers not to be disturbed but large clumps may be divided in spring.
