Nicotiana mutabilis is a truly beautiful tobacco plant. The flowers open white and change gradually to deep pink as they age. That's what its name means – mutabilis – 'changing' in Latin. It also looks brilliant en-masse in the garden.

Spacing Plant 45cm (18in) apart.
Sowing, Seeds, Planting Sow March - April under cover. Do not cover seed. Can be direct sown in early May.
Care Tips Picking the flowers will encourage lateral growth and prolong flowering. Can be grown in a container pot. Needs staking.
Flowering June - first frosts, 12 weeks from sowing.
Vase Life Last well in water (7-10 days), give them a good drink before arranging and remove fading flowers.
Harvesting Flower production: 4 months.
