As well as being renowned for its fertilising properties, seaweed is HATED by slugs. This is 100% natural, dried granulated seaweed that's been hand-gathered from the west coastal shores of Guernsey.
Surround individual plants in a 5cm wide layer of the granules and water in gently, replacing every 3-4 weeks or as required. As well as repelling slugs, it will nourish and enrich the soil.

Impressed
Reviewed 6th June 2018 by Mary Grindley I’ve used this on my Hostas and around my dahlias. I have found it very effective. I like that you can’t really see it as it blends in & there is no nasty odour which I wondered if it would as it’s seaweed based. It’s definately the best deterrent I’ve tried. The other plus is that it helps improve quality of the soil. Only gave 4* as it is very pricey. |
Try with copper tape - this could be a winning formula!
Reviewed 10th May 2018 by Heather McSherry
With varying degrees of success, I've tried a vast armoury of slug repellants from the low cost solutions like coffee grounds, egg shells and even pistachio shells (I did once have a lucky strike with chilli flavour - who knew?) .....to copper tape/ bands, woollen pellets and even nematodes. Must have spent more on protection than plants. |
